Doggett Gets Committee Assignments

Updated: Feb 18, 2021

State Rep. Clay Doggett, R-Pulaski, who represents all of Giles and most of Lawrence counties in the 70th District of the State House of Representatives, has been named to three committees and chairman of a subcommittee.

Doggett was re-elected to a two-year term last November.

House Speaker Cameron Sexton announced the appointments in January.

Doggett will be on the Criminal Justice Committee and was named chairman of the Criminal Justice subcommittee. He also was named to the Agriculture and Natural Resources and Naming and Justice committees.

In previous sessions, Doggett served on the Commerce Committee.

A relatively new committee, the Naming and Justice Committee will make recommendations on naming roads, monuments and other public areas. This marks Doggett's first appointment to the group.
