Free Throw Shooting Helps RedHawk Basketball Men to Win

Good free throw shooting helped the Martin Methodist College RedHawk men to a 77-74 win over visiting Cumberland University Jan. 9.

Adarion Hudson hit 14 of 18 free throws and Darrin Jenkins nine of 12 in the Martin win.

The RedHawks hit 26 of 35 free throws with 21 of 29 in the second half.

Hudson led Martin with 28 points, Jenkins added 21, and Mohamed Elgohary scored 14 points.

The Redhawks led 26-23 at halftime and by 12 almost midway through the second half before Cumberland rallied,

Tavon King led Cumberland with 24 points, while Aaron Ridley and Isaac Stephens each had 15 points. Tyler Byrd had 10 points.

Cumberland made 11 of 21 free throws.

Martin improved to 10-1 overall, 6-1 in the Mid-South Conference.
