Free Throws Help RedHawk Women over Georgetown

Faith Sherrow led the Martin Methodist College RedHawks with 23 points in an 84-62 basketball win over visiting Georgetown (Ky,) College Feb. 13.

The contest marked the last regular season home game for the Martin women.

Former Giles County High player Erin Freeman added 20 points for Martin, and she made eight of 10 free throw tries,

Taylor McNairy, another former GCHS player, had six assists, five steals and two points for Martin,

The RedHawks led 41-29 at halftime and stretched their lead to 24 points late in the fourth quarter.

Martin went 29 of 69 from the field to 19 of 42 for Georgetown.

Georgetown was paced by Madison Darnell with 14 points, Whitney O’Mara and Michaela Kennedy each had 10 points.

Martin improved to 7-11 overall, 6-11 in the Mid-South. Georgetown was 2-11 in the conference, 3-12 overall.
